Televised Reviews

So last night everyone was talking about the South Park episode that just aired. The episode goes: Cartman and Jimmy are sitting in Jimmy's house while Jimmy tries to come up with a new joke, and they stumble across the 'greatest joke ever'. So everyone in the world thinks its funny except Kanye West.

Overall i think the episode was a bust. I only watched it because i heard Carlos Mencia dies and Kanye West was funny in it. I for one, don't get why people aren't making fun of Carlos Mencia in this episode. This is the only time I've ever seen him be funny. The greatest part of the episode was at the end where Kanye West sings a song with his Autotune going.

This episode was a bust. 'D+'

Things that would of made the episode funnier:
  • Someone like Ellen, Carrottop or Carlos say the joke and no one finds it funny.
  • A better gay joke.
  • More celebrity appearances (especially more gay celebrities)
  • More Jewbots.

I think i want to write for a show.

Movie Review

So I watched 'Marley And Me' today. I was kinda skeptical. Ok so its a dog movie, right? Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. Not that great of a cast. I mean, maybe if it was a 'Friends' 'Shanghai Noon' Cross over maybe, But it was a movie about a dog.

After watching the movie, I can't really say anything bad about it. The movie was really good. It conveyed time well, set up a good foundation and connection with the characters, and was believable. Thats all you can really ask for. Script could of been better, and Wilson's friend lacked a little bit of detail, but nothing real bad about it. But the film really works your emotions.

C+. High 70?

WT-Pain.

So I've been checking out some songs on youtube, watching there videos and what not, and have you guys realized everyone song on the radio has T-Pain in it? Almost every song topping the charts have Lil Wayne, T-Pain, or Akon in it. I know this is old news, but have you guys seen T-Pain's Videos lately?

I don't know what he's hiding under that twisted top hat of his, or those Oakley shades, but this guy is fucked up. His AfterEffects obsession has gone to far. I'm at home watching the videos sober, and i feel like I'm having a crazy salvia trip. Chopped&Screwed? WTF T-Pain!?! Peoples faces coming apart and turning into a lion? And the lion is still wearing shades and a top hat!

I'll admit the videos are amazing, but does every video have to use the same effects? Popping out of your own head 30 times? Motion effects on the camera to make it zoom and pan? I wonder wat its like filming these videos.

Regardless, Don't Believe it, Chopped And Screwed, Freeze, And I'm On A Boat. Crazy Videos.

Postscript: Not Really Im On a Boat Tho.

Upcoming Films

Movie Review: Adventureland

So today i went to watch Adventureland. From the cast i thought it would be pretty funny. Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader, That weird SNL girl, and Twilight Girl. Prior to actually seeing the film, I've only seen the movie posters and was like, "WTF is this." The film is actually really good. More of a love story then a comedy. Starts out a little awkward, but sets up for a bizarre love story. Plot points and acting can be a little better, But after hearing Twilight girl is in it, i didn't expect the movie to be five stars acting wise (Although, I thought she was great in this movie). Beautifully shot and conveyed the point beautifully, with religious undertones (I think). Ryan Reynolds is a good actor, but could of used more lines. Can someone throw this guy a punch line or two? Bill Hader was obviously used to attract more viewers and could of used a bigger part, but its like Taboo in The Legend Of Chun Li. The rest of the cast was pretty good, can't really complain.

The movie's story is worth the ticket price. Don't expect to walk out the theatre with any good one-liners. I'd say one third as funny as Superbad, but with alot more content. I'd watch it again.

Rottentomatoes Gave it a 89%, I'd give it a 80-85%. A 'B'. 4/5.
